Help me narrow my choices

#1 Post by wayside »

Hi,

I love this forum, there is tons of great information here. Hopefully I can get some advice on quality and price.

I've gotten 3 quotes for windows - all include installation, removal of storms, and rewrapping the outside in aluminum for 16 DH about 31x48 inches.

Renewal by Andersen: $14,000
Pella Architect Model 3 aluminum clad: $12,800
Marvin Infinity fiberglass: $9,200

I've already ruled out Renewal, they are way too expensive and there seems to be a lot of negative opinion. What about the other two?

Apparently everyone really likes Schuco. I wasn't going to consider vinyl because I've never liked the look, although admittedly all I've ever dealt with is low-end vinyl. I can't seem to find the dealer list on their web site (www.schuco-usa.com); Does anyone know who the dealer is in the Boston, MA area?

Thanks.

Beantown,

Thanks for the response.

Trimline looks interesting (web site is actually www.trimlinewindows.com), I've asked them to send me the names of dealers.

I'll track down New England Sash as well.
