Shims Under Window Seal

#1 Post by Texwindow »

I read on this site that someone puts shims long ways under the seal at each corner to support the window, if they use a sill adapter. Do you put spray foam under the window sill or backer rod?

You mean window sill and sill expander. Use foam.

Yes I mean "SILL", sorry I new something did not look right about the spelling. "Sill adapter" meaning the piece of vinyl that snaps on the bottom of the window to compensate for the angled brick. Thanks

First Shim the window. We use vinyl window shims

Then Spray Foam to Insulate

Then use sill expander or capping to finish the exterior
