help

i have a private installer - looking for a vinyl replacement window - i know from what i read is gorell-soflite-sunrise but can i purchase or do i have to go thru their company and installer-- if i cannot get these windows what would you all suggest- i live in the far western suburbs of chicago by dekalb illinois

You are right on track with your brand selection, although I'd add Okna into that mix. I'm never a big fan of purchasing a window and then having it installed by a separate contractor, as there is just too much opportunity for blame to be transferred if/when problems should arise. In the greater Chicagoland area, I'd highly recommend a long-time poster on this board named Window4u.
