87x95 eyebrow window?

#1 Post by elduderino »

We have a fairly large opening, that currently has 2 aluminum single hungs. We are looking to replace all of our windows with vinyl, but this particular hole is causing us some problems. Our hope was to have one large picture window, but we seem to be having a hard time finding someone who will manufacture a window of this size.

The latest is that we'll have to have a seam 40" from the top of the eyebrow. This will put it right about eye level, which is unacceptable. The other option is to have a seam in the center, but this will add to the cost and still not really give us the look we were hoping for.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Is the opening square or does it have an arch top?
Is your measurement width x height?
Were, in general are you located?

Thanks.

Probably not the only company that should be able to do this, but I put togethor a window as follows in a PGT:

Picture window on bottom, arch window with legs on top (code: s/o)
Arch as legs with an overall height of 23".
Bottom picture window has a height of 72"

Total height is 95"

I only guessed at the what the arch "legs" are, but it should work.

That is a huge window, and I don't know of any manufacturers that would make that as a one piece unit. It will almost certainly have to be two mulled together.

Texas is notorious for incredible oversized windows that makes the replacement process more complicated and expensive.
