replacing slider windows

We're looking at a house with slider windows. They are leaking badly. The frame and sill around the window looks in good shape.
What's the best way to replace these, and with what. I hate sliders.
The windows are roughly 28" x 50".
This may be a deal breaker if there's no good solution.

Your bias against sliders seems very strong, why?

If you are not going to do sliders then you can use premium vinyl casement or awning. You might consider DH, but you have to do a sill drop.

Twin Casements will usually address most of the consumers issues with sliders.

Twin casements will work but be the most costly, also you will have a large mullion to look at.
A single awning window will be cheaper and provider better veiw.
