Questions to ask the contractor...

I am about to get estimates to replace 15 double-hung vinyl windows with new vinyl windows.

I have aluminum siding, if that makes any difference.

I will be posting the estimates and the windows after I get the quotes for your comment and suggestion.

So, what are the questions to ask contractors? And more importantly, what are the right or best answers?

How long in business?
Do you have your own crews or sub the work out?
What is your labor warranty?


What else???

I will be getting 5 quotes. None from the Low - Depots of the world. All will be from local companies (I like to support locals).

if you are going to get five, which is a bit much to me, four max.
I would make my #3 appointment with a pro who spends a lot of time helping to answer questions here on this forum, WOW. Find a thread that he has posted on and click his "Get a Quote" button.
He is one of the best in the country and has a great line up of product to choose from.
His install crews will take excellent care of you.
I would make him my #3 appointment because by then you may be done with the process, try it and see.
