polaris, atrium, or vista windows any opinions or advice?

#1 Post by kristinpa »

We just bought a house and are doing a number of projects. We need to replace 24 Windows 6 casement, 2 picture Windows, 2 non moving Windows and 14 slidders. We want colonial grids, bronze or black on the outside and white on the inside.

I have been reading online and trying to figure out what is the best window that won't break the bank.

We initially had a quote from Anderson at 37k before various discounts that brought it to 26k. That is far out of reach for us.

We had other quotes @ Vista 13,500 Polaris ultraweld 14,400 and atrium 8700 11,600.

Does anyone have any opinions on those three companies?

The Polaris Ultra would be the best of that group while the Atrium would be at the bottom and not even a consideration.

Are there any other brands you would suggest looking into?

The UltraWeld is one of the more solid windows out there. If you liked the contractor, I would say that you have done well and go ahead with that one.

If you want to look at other brands, HiMark is pretty good as are Soft-Lite and Sunrise.
