Hi all,
I need to replace my windows at my condo. I've had a few quotes and the best is from home depot for VantagePointe. I read Okna is a great window but im having a difficult time finding a vendor in the Chicago area.
The approx sizes for the windows are: 2 windows 37X49 3 windows 40X45 2 windows 36x33.
The estimate I received is $3100 for all 7 but I do not know the quality of the window. Does any know any good dealers and installers in the West Chicago suburbs? Thank you!

the vantage point is not considered higher quality in my opinion. Okna is a solid product with a stellar reputation. if im not mistaken there is a pro who frequents this board by the name of " windows4u " . you can search the board for his name and click his contact button. he is a truly a nice guy and a great contractor. i think he may carry the okna window.

I would aks them to price the job with 6500's and also get more bids on some other windows that are frequently recommended. What type of windows and options are in the bid? Does in include aluminum wrap.Any other details?

As mentiond if Dave serves your area you should contact him,"window4u". Lots of great products, excellet installs, good guy. Lastly I would suggest that the price you were quoted seems low to me. In my neck of the woods, a great performing window installed well = $500 -650

There are several thread about the Sheffield on this board.
It is a nicer window in Alside's line but I am not sure you would hear it referred to as one of the better units on the market.

the low price you were quoted on the Serious 300 is because its their lower end model. the Alside Sheffield uses a snap in sill which is a very bad design in my opinion ; it also has a very high air leakage rate. my feelings are the same with the Ultramaxx. The Alside 8000 series is a decent window though.
