Greenish Hue

#1 Post by Sandycsv »

Am replacing my picture window with Okna "triple pane/2 pane Low E w/argon gas." I have been told that I may see a greenish hue when looking out this window. If this is true, is it from the triple pane or the 2 pane Low E?

There is a bit of a gray/green hue to all windows with Low-e.

Triple pane (as a result of the additional surface of Low-e and glass) will have a bit more of that look.

Thanks! Am just worried that it will be too noticeable. Contractor has offered to bring over a sample - so that may answer my question. I really don't want to give up the triple pane as it is a window that gets extremely hot in the a.m. as it faces the sun. The glass in there now is double pane and I am assuming it has Low E as it was installed probably 8 years ago. I don't notice any greenish or grayish hue when looking out the present window though.

Thanks again !

If you currently have a double pane with Low-e, the triple pane will not be that much of a difference maker.
