1) toss out all center of glass ratings. They are worthless and serve no purpose other than for unscrupulous salesmen to mislead or confuse you. NFRC tests total unit.
2) SHGC is solar heat gain coefficient. You live in a climate where you heat your home far more than you cool it, so you want to take advantage of some of that passive solar heat through your windows, but balanced of course with a good u value ( for insulating).
3) If Anthony serves your area he would be a tremendous resource. You can click his get a quote button to contact him. :)

+1

COG ratings are purely designed to be distractions at the end of the day.

Not sure if anthony gets up to Connecticut but if you find the window that you want, I am sure you can find someone to supply it via new construction.

I just contacted Anthony, would love the oknas but also trying to make it easy for my gc to purchase them so going through a lumber yard maybe the only option. Hopefully Anthony can work something out.
On a side note are the ratings different for every single window size? And what is a good shcg rating?
Is. 19-.25 good?

In your climate, the higher the better on the South facing windows.

On the rest of the elevations, it is not of much impact or concern.

So I am starting to get some quotes in.
The Ply gem pro series vinyl seems to be the least of them all by far.
I am still waiting on a few specific window size prices from Anthony on the Okna.
Honestly I am very surprised at the pricing of the Ply Gem. How is their pro series new construction line? This would be a no brainer for my builder if I could get a better window for less money.
Any options I could add to make it a better window?
