What are the things that I should look for when choosing the manufacture? Any suggestions on how to tell which is better?

Things to look for in a window:
Composite ( non metal) spacer system
True welded sloped sill..no pocket sills or snap in sills
Mortised sill wall ( not mandatory but a great feature)
Performance numbers:
Ufactor of .28 or lower on double pane glass
Air leakage rate of .07 or lower
DP Rating of 45 or higher
