If your door is stock size 6' I would go with Okna.
We have sold and installed both.
I do not see much difference in the screens.

My personal preference is for the Okna and its fully welded frame. The Sunrise probably operates slightly more smoothly, but the Okna is a little tighter IMO. You really won't go wrong either way.

What type of mechanism does Okna use to operate the internal blinds - it is not quite clear based on my online research. I have seen several posts where people say to avoid magnetic rope operators. Does Okna use such a mechanism? Also, I assume in addition to fully going up and down, the blinds would also open/close when in the down position?

We use magnets but not the rope system. One operates the Lift and the other the tilt.

I do agree that the rope system is not the best.

The Okna lifts and tilts, you get both types of operation.
Earlier and cheaper versions of the blinds between the glass would hav been tilt only with no raise and lower function .

the rope style operators are pretty much obsolete and were terrible. The Okna door (and most others) use the magnetic "slide" operators. Very easy and quick operation.
Both systems utilize magnets.

Thanks. I tried to call Okna to see if I could get a sense of how much of a performance hit there would be on the models with the mini blinds due to the no argon gas. They didnt have test numbers for that model so couldnt give me a definitive answer.

Its usually about 15-20% reduction in general terms for the lack of argon.

Ok I've officially spent way too much time researching patio doors. Seems like in some places I see the Elegante referenced as a 5600 model but in other places I see references to an 8800 model. Are there different models or are these the same door. Also one other site seemed to reference that you can upgrade to stainless steel rollers but it doesnt seem any other website (including okna's) references this. A mistake maybe?

I can find nothing in the dealer book about an option on rollers.

The Elegante is the 8800. The 5600 is the old model patio door from years ago. Yes, you can upgrade to Stainless Steel rollers for coastal applications.
