Is there any reason or advantage to upgrading rollers in non-coastal (i.e. eastern pa) applications?

Never had a set of the brass ones fail in my experience. Keep the tracks clean and you are fine.

Love the fact that I am still able to learn things.
So if you got SS rollers maybe you would want Laminated glass.
Not you Rob, just in general.

Brass is a softer metal than SS, so there would be an advantage in that regard. That said, much like WoW I have yet to see brass rollers fail unless there was some type of damage involved extraneous to the material.
Window Nerd, what would be the reason for laminated? Just not catching a correlation there.

Coastal with SS might also need Hurricane glass

Gotcha! ... I thought you were speaking of non-coastal application. My mistake. :)

Sorry to resurrect this. Can anyone comments on how the Okna Elegante compares to the Marvin Sliding Patio/French Doors? Both in price and performance? I notice that Marvin doesnt have internal blinds, but it seems you can get a custom fit shade to over the door that looks nice as well. Thanks.

The Marvin door is wood interior.
It does not have as good test results for AI.
Getting the best you can in SGD is important.
