Replacement Windows

#1 Post by paresident »

Can anyone tell me which window is better? Okna or Interstate ! I'm Looking to replace 10 windows in my PA Home (Pocono Area). I have 5 different sizes! I am looking for new construction double hung windows, since I will also have the house vinyl sided over the T-111 wood.

Interstate has 3 Models the 4000, 4200, 6400
Okna has the 500 & 800 .

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated !

Haven't used their vinyl before.

We have used the Interstate composite on a couple of jobs and found it to be of solid construction and they have some additional exterior trim options as part of their integrate system.

I think the Okna 800 gets the nod in terms of overall performance but all should serve you well.

+1. The Okna 800 is one of the top vinyl choices on the market IMO. The Interstate is pretty solid, but as WoW alluded to, they are not necessarily apples to apples.

The models the OP listed are vinyl windows, so the material should be the same.
They do sell a composite window that seems similar to a Fibrex as well.

My contractor uses Thermo-lite windows !!! I've asked him for quotes on the interstate or Okna, but he would like me to consider the Thermo-lites !!!!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated !!
I'm leaning towards the Okna 800 , But still have open mind !!!

Thanks in advance !!!

For me and my customers the 800DX is the way to go.
There are circumstances that some times make you think about other choices.
Did you want an integrated fin install, if so you will need to look at the 5500DX.
