Windows switched

#1 Post by steveieareno »

I need some advice if you please. I bought Simonton 5050 reflections windows from a contractor in Dallas, TX.
I have the stickers off the windows when installed and it says at the top Profinish builder and profinish contractor. Is this the 5050 reflections windows? How do you tell if you have 366 prosolar shade glass? I know some of the other windows were switched and I need expert advise on the others.
Thanks again for your advise.

Do they still have the NFRC stickers on them? Typically the warrant stickers (on the sash or inside the head jamb) have some sort of build data on them as well.

Could you post a picture of the sticker you have that says Profinish?

NFRC stickers.
Here's what the windows sticker says.
Simonton Windows
ProFinish Contractor
single hung vinyl 1/8' glass argon low-e non laminated glass with grids
CPD SBP A 80 03571 00002
U factor 0.30 Solar heat gain coefficient .020 visible transmittance 0.44
I have 6 of these windows
I will have to scan the sticker. Or try from my phone
My contract says reflection 5050 series
prosolar shade 366 glass lowE/3 argon

That SHGC is indicative of the Low-e 366 option.

Agreed, looks like you got the Low-E366 at least. I don't know enough about Simonton's window lines to tell you if the window you got is equivalent to the 5050 or not.

Thanks for your help. I am trying to find out if some one in the DFW Dallas Ft Worth area I can hire to do an evaluation of my windows. Some have AAMA labels but say sim-2 but the window is Atrium. I believe I was had big time.

Call the manufacturer. They should, based on the serial number, be able to tell you everything you need to know.
