Looking for windows in the DFW area

#1 Post by Catrageous »

About half of the windows in our 13 year old house have fogged (and of course they were crappy builder-grade aluminum to begin with) so we have started our search for replacement windows. We realize we could just get glass replaced, but due to such poor insulation anyway, we'd rather bite the bullet and get everything replaced.

We started looking at Milgard and realized they were higher than we could justify. We tried getting a quote from Clarity but they never sent any numbers to us after the initial visit. We are looking for a good middle of the road window, and we think our frontrunner brand is the NT Presidential windows unless someone has better options for our area. (Simonton or Softlite also seem like good choices) With about 35 windows in our house, price and warranty are factors on the brand we go with - and then of course we want an honest company to work with on sales and install.

Can anyone recommend a good company to work with in the DFW area?

Regards,
Melissa

Melissa,

There is a bit of a drought (pardon the pun) of good window companies in Dallas.

If you can get him to come out, Ultra Windows (poster named Randy here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6024) is out of the Houston area.

He has served the Dallas area previously but he might be so darn busy in Houston for right now.

Might want to give him a call and just chat him up.

The volume of your project may make it OK for Randy to help you.
For sure Randy knows his stuff about window and NT windows. Randy is one of the great good guys.
