I was told one time that it was actual glass (i.e. what is behind the glazing bead).
At that point, it is usually splitting hairs and they are usually large enough to justify it or well under it.

My understanding is visible glass, but at the end of the day it is what the inspector says it is generally.

Thx guys, I agree with you both that it is splitting hairs and that the inspectors will win. Also better to be safe than sorry, I think liability attorneys like to split hairs too.
