Visual image help adding small opening

#1 Post by penaddict »

we have two picture windows to the left and right of our breakfast area patio door
We were thinking of making them double hung with the opening at the bottom 16 inches
We're trying to get a visual so I put a line of tape where the opening would be or the frame would be
Thoughts?
Oh and don't want to do casements as we get high wind.

Whether to go Oriel or Cottage depends on how you use the room.

We have a client that did the 60/40 split (top over bottom) because of where his windows landed it allowed him to still look out the window without seeing the meeting rail in his field of vision.

Thanks. We ended up deciding against it and making it a picture window as it was. There's a window we can open somewhat near it.

Thanks for the input.
