Shuco Quote

#1 Post by re-re »

I just got a quote for 10 double hung and one 67x51 picture window
at $12,899 with install

These are for the Shuco triple pane TPS seal with auto locks and grids

These will be installed in Massachusetts

My sills are in good shape, it is a ranch and a ladder won't even be needed.

Is this Quote close to what it should be?

It's right on the money if they leave an employee behind to open and close the windows for you for 3 months.

Hard to tell with the info given. What has to be done to your house? Woodgrain windows? Tan windows? Full screens? Etc, etc, etc. It could be a great price, or it could be out of line.

Double check to make sure the picture window is triple pane. The size you gave could be out of schuco's specs for triple pane. Check with your sales person.

5 of the windows are larger than normal 39x49,
3 are 27 3/4 x 36 1/2 and the final
2 are 30 1/2 x 51 1/2, along with the picture window (size already given)

The quote states that all windows are triple glass (including picture) with krypton.

No woodgrain, screens are just the standard pop out bottom window only - they are putting on a colored capping - but's that's all. Nothing unique or custom about the window - buying the standard product shown to us.

This price includes removal of all debris.

Harpo's right.... the pic size you gave is 118 united inches, Schuco's max in triple is 115. Just make sure that the employee they leave behind doesn't eat too much.

Impossible to say without seeing your installation... but I wouldn't be suprised if you get a 30% price drop offer within the next 72 hours. Good Luck. Who was your dealer?

The picture window is only 62" - not 118" - I think my post is getting confused with someone else's

United inches.....115 max is width plus height.

"I just got a quote for 10 double hung and one 67x51 picture window"

As W4U stated, you need to add the height and width... your picture window is 118 united inches. I didn't confuse yours with another post. So is it 67" or 62"?

I must have given you the wrong dimensions for the picture. NE Sash tells me the united inches are 112.75 total.

I threatened to cancel and he still claims that $12,899 (that's with 5% tax on material only) is the absolute best price he can give me. Is it that much more to do business in the northeast? Or is he just calling my bluff?
