Hi-
Looking to replace a 94x46 bronze XOX Horizontal dual slider aluminum from the 1980s which is single pane.
Building next door to the outside window has installed 4 AC units directly adjacent to the room.
Want to maximize sound reduction - I understand I should look for high OITC rated window since low frequency output from the HVAC systems next door.
Want is my best choice w/respect to options?
* Width of each piece of glass (understand they should be different widths - what widths?)
* Dual or triple pane?
* Foam insulated for installation or ?
* Looking at vinyl as I need to match current bronze aluminum single pane outside look
* Located in S. Cal
What specs and brand would you recommend? Milgard/Jen Weld / Pella / Marvin?
Thanks for your expertise and guidance, much appreciated.

Milgard is obviously an option then and I have used their QuietLine windows. The STC 47 package and the customer was thrilled with them.

Thanks - I was under the impression the QuietLine was discontinued...any other ones that have similar performance?

Ah...I was not aware of that as Milgard isn't out here on the East Coast any longer.
Low frequency mitigation is tougher than high frequency. I would start with those suppliers and see what they have in a dedicated STC product line up.

Thanks - from what I can tell, I have a challenge with the rough opening - it looks like the width of the STC specific windows are 5 9/16 - too wide for my wall.
I've researched the Amsco Serenity line - but seems like limited availability here in Southern California.

They can stick out a bit as the dedicated STC windows will have a storm window assembly in the screen track. You can make it work if ultimate performance is the goal.
