Gulf Coast Windows

#1 Post by Connie Sells-Hall »

We have a beach house in Galveston, Tx. We need to find some affordable and durable replacement windows. The house was built in 74 and is definitly in need of new windows. What can anyone suggest that can take hurricane force winds. We also realize that installation is a key factor here. Does anyone have any recommandations on that front also.

There are windows today that are rated for hurricanes; Simonton has hurricane windows in both vinyl and aluminum called Storm Breaker Plus. Several other window companies have hurricane rated lines; I would check with local window distributors to see what is available in your area.

Simonton Storm Breaker windows are available here for impact resistance as well as a window made by Alside and a few others. As with regular windows, installation is the key. Poor installation will negate the benefits of the windows.
