Choosing the best Vinyl & Wood Manufacturer

#1 Post by l00king4gr8windows »

Hello All,

Please only those who will provide an educated un-biased opinion:

I am looking at the following manufacturers and want to know who is best?

Vinyl: Certainteed, International, LBL, Milgard,Anlin, Simonton, Pella, or Atrium

Wood: Superior, Marvin, Windsor, Weathershield, or Hurd

Also looking at a product called Prism Grid. Any thoughts?

Finally What are the most important selection factors when selcting a Window manu other than: Spacer type, Gas type, NFRC rating?

Thanks for all the info! :D

vinyl
1 anlin
2. Certainteed
3. Milgard
4. Simonton
Toss the rest in the trash

Wood
1. Marvin
2. Weathershield
The others, wont take them

Prism grid is a stcker type of product applied to the inside of the glass panes. Is looks like v-groove glass and is a fraction of the cost. A cool concept. I know Certainteed in Sacramento has a new prism grid machine and it is pretty slick to see.
