I received a quote for Como windows. Double Hungs (all right around 32" x 45") with aluminum wrapping $400 each. This was an impromptu quote so he did not have a sample with him, but will bring one whenever i'd like to look at it. His other primary window is Great Lakes for $500/window. I have heard of Great Lakes, but never Como. They are made here in Chicago. The only thing that worries me a bit is they use a spiral balance instead of constant force balance.
I am not worried about workmanship as I have seen references and will also be talking to a reference.
Does anyone know anything about these windows? How do they compare with other mid-range vinyl windows?
