I purchased ten PGT windows in June 2008. They are the wingaurd series 540, low E
high performance. There is a mixture of casements and one horizontal roller. Recently
the two 36x37 solar ban lami windows with an egress hinge are beginning to discolor
between the two pieces of glass. The salesman is calling it seal failure. He says PGT will pay forthe glass but not the labor. The written warranty does not specify their re-
sponsibility and leaves it to their discretion.
My question is, has anyone else experienced this, and what was the outcome?
I live in southeast Florida where PGT is quite popular, Did I make a mistake by getting
vinyl? Would greatly appreciate feedback.

Re: PGT Vinyl Wingaurd discolored glass
In most applications, the manufacturer will remake the sash as a whole. They are very easily changed out and the installer will normally do that either as a courtesy or for a minimal travel/overhead fee.
What does your installer say?
You did not make a mistake with vinyl. Seal failures do happen for any myriad of reasons but that is why they are warranty items.
