Harvey, Barrington, Excalibur or Quantum2 - Recommendations?

#1 Post by lookin4windows »

Obviously, we're not looking for upper-end windows here. We have a small condo in CT with 5 old single-pane wood windows that have to come out. We've narrowed it down to these 4 options (Harvey Slimline, Soft-lite Barrington, Alside Excalibur, and Serious Quantum2), although I think Exacalibur might be out of the running because of the air/water infiltration comments I've read.

Any experience with any of these?
We are looking at the windows that qualify for the tax credit, but realize most of them do and it comes down to finding a good installer & taking a look at the air/water infiltration numbers.

Quotes for 5 standard windows have been anywhere between $940/window (Sears) to $453/window (Excalibur).

This is a great site and I look forward to hearing from anyone. :P

Thanks!

i would immediately eliminate the harvey slimline and the excalibur. the quantum2 is the best out of the group. ask to see the soft lite elements or imperial LS.
