#1 Post by working girl »

I installed white vinyl windows and would like to paint them. Is this possible?

Some people sell "paint for vinyl" online. And i do not doubt that it could be done but i know that 99.9% of the window manufacturers will void your warranty in a heartbeat. I have seen it done howevere and alot of companies have painted their windows but they do not warrant them for life like unpainted vinyl.

There are some specialty companies that "re-finish" vinyl siding, usually to settle a warranty claim, but painting vinyl windows is not recommended.

Yikes - you'll likely void the warranty. Vinyl expands and contracts with the hot/cold weather - they don't put a lot of expanders in paint to get it to adhere to a moving surface.
Same reason you don't see dark colored vinyl fencing and why dark vinyl siding looks worn after just a few years.
Sorry!

Definitely best left unpainted. The piant made for Vinyl messes up too.
