I have cinder block walls and manged to remove my old windows and metal frame that was was cemented in about an inch. I measured 32W x 14H so that is the size windows I ordered. 32x14 was actually the smallest size I could find without special ordering so I figured it would work. The problem is I received my new vinyl windows today and they have a lip (I think they may be called jambs) around them. I can't fit them into my opening with that lip. What do I do? I want to make these work since I don't want to special order windows. Can I cut the lip off? What tool should I use to cut the lip off? Need help! My windows are out so now I have holes in my basement and I want to solve this so animals, rain, etc. come in.

You can cut the lip off if you need to.
That window was ordered with some sort of flanged front for a frame jump type application.

Skill saw with backwards plywood blade or score several times with a utility knife and snap it off.RabbitOne wrote:What tool should I use to cut the lip off?
