I'm asking if this is a good idea or a bad one. Had windows professionally installed late last year, drywall return on interior, J-channel / vinyl siding exterior with formed aluminum capping between window and siding. My problem is the bedroom window, when it rains, droplets of water hitting the hollow aluminum capping wakes me up at night, similar to a dripping faucet dripping at night. Anyway, I've narrowed it down to the capping at the bottom of the window, I'm thinking of drilling a series of 1/4" diameter holes along the underside of the capping and injecting minimal expanding foam to fill up the void, followed by caulking to seal up the holes after the foam has set. If this is a bad idea, I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks.
Don't do that! I think you are my customer Chris K., right? Please call me. I've been trying to reach you with no success. I'll have a wider drip cap installed on your windows to solve the aggravating drip noise.
