I admit to being confused. We own home in S. CA but are renting it while in Africa. We need to start replacing windows since the builder Al ones are a total disaster - broken frames no seals etc. We have a quote for SilverLine for a patio door and 7 windows of almost $5,800. But after reading reviews here I am not feeling good about these windows. Basically we can spend only between $5000 and $6000 a year on windows - this is going to be a 3 year project at least. So I have read good reviews of Milgard and Simonton - but do these hold true in S. CA? Advice please so I can advise my husband who is there meeting with installers to get quotes.
