“The Lowest Bidder”
It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worst to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - thats all. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.

With Clear Choice, you are probably looking at a Ply Gem window.

We decided to throw out Clear Choice windows and compare Window World Comfortworld 4000 or 6000 versue Stanek Windows.Stanek windows start at u-factor of U.30(R4) and go to U.20(R9.1). Window World is second highest compare to Stanek third on estimates. Has anyone gone with one of these companies and was happy.

I can tell you that if you go WW, then you need to go with the 6000 at least. Thats assuming they are selling you an Alside Window, you don't want the 4000, I garuantee it.

Who told you a U value of .20 compares to an R value of 9?

System 9 means nothing. It is just trying to mislead you into thinking that it is an R-9. 1/Uvalue=Rvalue. .20 is an R5.

I would call Clear Choice back.....rumor has it they dropped Ply Gem due to a poor performing product. They went back to only carrying the Signature series which is made by VISTA. This seems to be the best Value in the mid grade vinyl window offerings.
