North Star versus Sunrise

#1 Post by spinkelman »

We need 2 replacement windows and are trying to decide between North Star (made in Canada) and Sunrise double hung large windows. Each is supplied by a different dealer/contractor. I can't find any reviews of North Star, but the sample window and screen system was impressive. Any help? The price is about the same.

North Star uses a constant force balance and Sunrie uses a pulley system... just one reason for Sunrise being a beter window.

Please explain why the Sunrise pulley system is better than the constant force in the Northstar.

Unless one of the balance systems in your comparison is a spiral balance, I have maintained that the balance system should not really be a deciding factor.

Constant force and Block and tackle (new versions) are both good. One does not make for a really superior window in my opinion.
