I'm interested to know where you can get Okna in the Boston area.

I don't know who "Diane" and "Sam Malone" are, so I guess not! :lol:

It's actually a twisted reference to one of my other nicknames.

I'll be getting these installed shortly (~late July) in my home. I went with the double pane argon because its U-factor was comparable to other vinyl makers triple pane windows.

I'll have before/after pictures. Should be a dramatic difference between my single pane 84 year old wood windows.

Since this board has been so helpful with weeding through the good/bad windows I should post how my install went.

So I got my windows replaced over the July 4th weekend. All 30 windows done in one day, they came at 7:30am and left at 7:30PM. They did a very good job with the caulking and flashing. The installers cleaned up after themselves. If you're in the New York area I would recommend Major Homes to install windows for your own home.

Here are some pictures of the before and after (note they're not the same window hole didn't have time to take pictures of the same window but you get the idea).

I really like the Starmark's. The outside paint job (bronze exterior/white interior) was flawless. Only thing I noticed there were some scuff marks on the interior portion on some of the windows, but the installers were able to get rid of it with some goof off. Its like going from standard definition TV to HDTV because my old windows were so dirty. I can see so clearly now.

I went with the double pane, foam filled kind with a U-Factor of .25 and SHGC of .28.

That is correct. That balance system is quite smooth.

$660. It was right in the middle between going with a regular vinyl and going with the marvin integrity/infinity line (that was around $750-$1000 a slot)

No extra charges. Windows would have been cheaper if I didn't go with grills between glass and painted exterior.

They even took out my old awnings/side window panels that I didn't like for free.

Overall very happy. I notice you're in NY too.. are you thinking about going with Major homes?
