Have estimates that are the same $$ from 2 different contractors who have outstanding reputations so it comes down to which window is better for the price?
Any suggestions...thanks

I would look at the fact that Simonton is owned by a fotune 500 company which owns many succesful companys. one is moen facuets. with that being said, when you are being sold a lifetime warranty , i would go with the one who has been in business for 63 years and has earned the JD power award for 3 years in a row for remodelers. SIMONTON

This JD Power thing is misleading if you don't know how the judging works. Simonton is available in every Norandex and ABC Supply in America. It is available nationwide to tens of thousands of remodelers. The majority of high quality windows in the market are only available to a handful of authorized dealers thus do not even show up in a survey of remodelers. The Simonton wins it every year because of it's nationwide availability to every contractor and the fact it outclasses the warehouse brands it competes with in the survey.
The Simonton is a fine window and competes nicely with any window, but saying it's the best window in the marketplace because of this award is misleading.

The JD Power rating system has less to do with window quality than it does the manufacturer making the window. If you look at the catagories the ratings are based on data such as warranty and repair, billing, delivery, orders coming in correctly. Simonton makes a very good window compared to it's price point and backs it up with customer service that is second to none but, it certainly isn't the "Best Window" available (whatever Best means). The JD Power rating doesn't determine the quality of the window any more than a consumer survey would.
The Best Window catagory is highly subjective. What criteria would be used? Most energy efficient, best aesthetics, best quality control, best price point? Best is based on the customers needs IMO.
