Brickmould 600 and vinyl siding trim

#1 Post by golem »

Going to be installing Monogram 46 around some Brickmould 600's. Should I expect to use the brickmould alone as the channel for the siding at the header and jams while at the sill an under-sill (or utility) trim would be used for attachment?

Thanks

The window should have an integrated J all the way around if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for the reply WoW, much appreciated!

Most likely you're correct. They do state in the window features list that for "Install Method" the standard feature is "Nailing Fin w/Brickmould J-Channel". Guess what threw me off is the schematic on their data sheet. It shows a simple 7/8" U-channel produced by the brickmould. Upon further thought, the 3/4" reveal on the clapboard siding added to the locking panels thickness will pretty much fill the 7/8" channel, wouldn't leave much room for any trim.
