Impact windows, Galveston Texas

#1 Post by hyoung » Mon Nov 01, 2010 7:02 pm

I am replacing the worn-out aluminum windows on my house in Galveston. Of course, once the building is opened up it has to be brought to code (to meet insurance requirements) and that means impact windows and a relatively high DP rating (50-60).

Currently I am looking at Showcase impact windows and SafeHarbor impact windows. Showcase seems a little slow on the draw in providing an estimate and this makes me concerned about future support. Have not yet initiated contact with SafeHarbor. Can anyone comment on these products and manufacturers?

Any guidance or other products I should be looking at? Thanks to everyone for the info on this board, I have been lurking for a while and have learned a lot already!

I am not sure if he covers that far outside of Houston, however, the best guy I know of is "Randy".

Bar none, he is the Best in Texas if not the lower 48: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4505
