Gorell 5152/5153 or Champion

#1 Post by 80schild »

Hi, I have narrowed down my window selection between these 2 choices. Does anyone have any thoughts one way or the other, or are they both bad and should I continue my search? Both quotes are about $3900 for 6 windows. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

More details on the installation would help evaluate your choices more effectively.

The Champion window is okay but I think the Gorell window is a better option just comparing apples to apples.

+1 to WOW's comments...Those prices aren't bad, and actually suprisingly low for Champion. The Gorell choice would definitely be superior, however... The 5100 has a nice slim design. I'd ask to add the fiberglass reinforcement and foam filling package for a few extra bucks if it is not already included.

$650 a window for double pane Gorell 5100s? Am I missing something here?

I don't see where the OP mentioned the glass package or any other options.... With very little info, it would seem to be in the "fairly priced" range. More details would definitely help though. :D

Does that include exterior trim and lead-safe procedures? If so, I'd say that price sounds about right... Although I can't speak for the going rate in St Louis.

Yes to the outside trim, and the removal & disposal of all old windows. It would cost $300 more for lead safe but it's been tested negatively.

So, I guess bottom line, am I getting a good window for the price or should I look elsewhere??
