Home Depot claims the VantagePointe 6200 is made by Simonton and is the best for the extremely hot AZ summers. Their cost is $10000 for 15 windows. Window World claims the same but their price is $6000 for the 4000 series. Which is the best way to go? Both are A+ BBB and warranty is life for both incl labor. I did not see any mention of the VantagePointe 6200 on this website. Please advise...

Iirc the Vantagepoint 6200 is the same as the Simonton Reflections 5300/Prism Bronze and the WW 4000 is the Alside Excalibur. I would contact a local Simonton dealer for a competitive quote. Simonton is definitely the better window but I think you should make sure you are getting the best price. The only way to do that is to compare.

In a word...neither.
Get a local window professional to quote you a Simonton window if you like the window.
I would not put the Alside Excalibur (4000) in AZ heat.

If you get a quote from a Simonton Dealer, have him base it on the Reflections 5500/Prism Platinum with the 366 glass.

I agree with both WoW and EcoStar. I'd just add that if you decide to go with Simonton windows, I'd make sure to upgrade to the optional sash reinforcement to resist sagging and bowing in the heat.

I agree with all of the above. Sash reinforcement is a must, ww 4000 is garbage, and in simonton, the 5500 series would be my MINIMUM recommendation. Big box installs are highly suspect due to the cut rate prices that they pay their installers, so IF you like Simonton, find a local dealer.

Thanks for your knowledgeable answers. I guess I have more "homework" to do. You guys know your stuff and I don't want to be taken advantage of by Sales personnel. I have bids from $40,000 to $6000 and was hoping the cheapest bid was the best. I guess you get what you pay for.
