Best Slim Line window

What are the best windows in the market now that have a slim frame (more glass) and function well.

2 that come to mind are the okna 800 "envirostar" or sunrise vanguard/restorations.

The Soft-Lite Pro is a decent window. I will point out that the other mentioned brands/series all feature 3-point weatherstripping on the sashes and non-metal meeting rail reinforcement. These features may come at a little more of a premium price if you currently have a very attractive bid with the Pro. We've done Pros in the past and have never had anyone disappointed with them. On a very large double-hung or slider I would consider a design with a beefier sash profile. On a very small unit the Pro is actually a very nice choice as it preserves as much viewable glass as possible with a vinyl product.

The Insul-Tec is also a very good slim line option and at a slightly lower performance category, so are the Bainbridge and Barrington.

My windows are about 22 x 60. Is that considered too large for the pro to still be a good choice. The price we are getting is $470. Is that too high?

are they DH/SH or casement?
Are the existing units aluminum?

sounds like a fair price on a good window IMO. I tend to prefer the aforementioned HiMark/Okna and Sunrise options, but the PRO is solid.

they are double hung and the existing windows are wood.

The Pro's will accommodate that size easily as many others being that narrow. Would need more details on window and install to comment on price.

22 by 60 is modest size in most cases and the Pro should work just fine in that application.

Assuming the installation is a standard wood out (pull the stop, set new unit, cap, etc), that pricing seems fair.

If the home is older than 1978 or has lead paint, that pricing is more than fair. Same for any wood rot that is covered in that pricing.

ok we are down to two, sunrise essentials vs softlite pro. Which do you prefer?
