$10,000 for Thermal Industries Bay Window installation?

#1 Post by starseed »

I have a split level 15 year old house that needs an old bay window with an apron replaced. I want a new Bay window with no apron put in, (instead of apron just cedar boards to match existing wall). A company that sells Thermal Industries vinyl bay windows (about 8 feet by 5.5 feet) says removing the old window, taking out the apron, and replacing with a new vinyl bay window is an almost $10,000 job. This seems high to me. I was thinking the Fair Market value for something like this would be around $3000...any comments are most welcome..thanks...

thanks fenex...would you agree that $3000, $4000 at the absolute high end, would be the price for something like this?

Yes, 3-4k is an acceptable range for that size bay, unless there is not the same size opening in the wall already or you live with a colony of lepers.
