After hours of reading I know now to avoid the big box stores windows.
But I could not figure out which windows are the right ones.
I have 7 windows I would like to replace with energy saving windows.
I looked at Marvin and Pella already. Marvin is very expensive and I do not like the quality of the Pella windows.
Could you please help me?
I am in Nashville,TN.
Thank you

Re: Can not make a decision
I assume you are looking for a wood or fiberglass window? Which models did you look at? What are looking for in a window? This is a vinyl window forum but you can still get your answers here.

PVC windows. Wood has to be repainted often.
Despite, I love wood.
I don't know the models. I just went to their showrooms.
Windows has to me energy efficient and sound reducing (keeping noises out)
The best windows for that I am looking for are German Tilt 'n Turn. But way out of my price range.

Re: Can not make a decision
If energy savings is your number one priority, then you will want to pay close attention to the thermal and structural performance ratings of the products that you are considering.
Sunrise, HiMark, Okna, and Softlite are a few top performers that are held in high regard, however there are certainly other good choices as well.
Look at total unit u-value, air infiltration, and design pressure ratings as a good indicator of quality and performance.

Are Himark and Okna the same company?

Same manufacturer, two different dealer networks. Currently the products are the same across both lines with different names, although there will be some brand specific products coming soon.
