As Anthony mentioned, block and tackle is a great system, and is actually used in more premium lines than constant force. That said, either is just fine. I'd also not base you choice on the other " bells and whistles". An extruded screen is nice,but not really a big deal at all, nor is snap in trim. In fact, the latter is rarely used by most guys.

On a whim I deceided to have the gorell rep out that did my parents windows about 5 years ago. The company has a good track record and his qoute for 5300's came in $1K less than the simonton 9800 quote  I think we have found our windows.

Sounds like a great choice... My only question would be if they did a good job on your parents windows, why didn't you call them sooner?

Don't mean to bring this back up, but finornot, you are going through same thing I am currently and I'm in Central, FL. From some of your comments, we have talked to the same exact dealer. Was hoping to maybe exchange some notes since you are further along then I am.
