I’m actually doing a new build in Dallas and I am trying to narrow down my search between a couple of different window companies. I am doing a modern house and wanted to go with aluminum to keep with the modern style, but they no longer meet the energy codes here, so I am now looking at vinyl. My builder went with Krestmark on his bid, my architect put me in touch with Marvin and I talked to Don Young. I've been told that the Krestmark 200 series is a basic builder grade window, which also makes it the cheapest. My question is, how much better and how much of a difference am I going to see in overall quality and energy savings between them. Most of the specs seem somewhat similar. The Don Young windows are 30% more than Krestmark and the Marvin are 60% more.
Thanks for your help!

There is only one guy that I know of to talk to in Texas and that is Randy.

Sorry, I don't do new construction at all, only replacement.
Krestmark is low end, and I wouldn't consider it at all.
I'd consider Don Young's 5200 or NT's Energy Master as good mid-grade window options.
