We've put in some vinyl replacement windows in the house, including the window in the bedroom. It is now hot and humid and we aren't sure how to put our window AC in with the new window (given that the lower part of the vinyl frame sits well above the sill). Any suggestions would be appreciated!

One method, depending on the exact situation...Put a wood block cut to length on the sill.(to get the AC above the lip that sticks up) Install the AC, and then cut thin wood stops and install them on top of the bottom sash and wedge them into the header. This is to keep someone from accidently opening the sash up and having the AC unit fall out. Then reach up and stuff foam between the sashes at the top rail of the bottom sash to prevent insects from coming in.
