Harvey, American Craftsman, Pella and Simonton (Boston)

#1 Post by vasun »

Great site, good information!

I am looking to replace 16 windows in my house and the only contractor who came in recommending Harvey replacement windows. I do not seem to find any discussions (pros & cons) on Harveys on this site. Any feedback on them? The fact that they are NE based provide any benefits to their windows in NE weather? My neighbor's contractor had recommended and installed Pella.

And trying to clarify postings on this site, is Home Depot essentially rebranding the Simonton as American Craftsman?

Thanks.

No please let’s not make that mistake.

The America Craftsman window is made by Silverline and can be purchased in the store and with a quick search here you can find out what most of the pro’s think of it.

The window built by Simonton is called Renovations and is sold on an installed basis only from Home Depot. The Renovations 6500 is the top of the line from Home Depot.
