 Comfort World 4000 vs. 6000

Author: Joe (

I'm considering purchasing the Comfort World window from Window World Inc.for replacement windows for my home. Does anyone have any experience/feedback about the quality and construction of these windows? If so, what's the difference between the 4000 series and the 6000 series window? ....Is the higher end 6000 series worth it?

I put both windows in my house in Florida. I had windows over 48" wide, so I couldn't put all 4000 series windows in. But now that I have had them in for 5 months, I can see no real difference except for looks. I did put the 6000 series in my public rooms for the looks.

I'm also looking at the comfortworld 4000 and 6000 series. The 6000 has a much beefier frame. There's much more vinyl and strength in the product. I am considering the 6000 cottage style double hung to replace a double hung and transom configuration. Because of size (over 72" tall) the salesman said those windows should be the 6000 because of weight. In the back of the house he said it would be personal preference between the 4000 and 6000. I have narrowed my choices down to the comfortworld and softlite brands. Any feedback on these brands woould be appreciated. I know this is a strong shuco site, but i haven't considered them because I'm in the mid-south with no shuco dealers around. I'm not disagreeing with the purported quality of the shuco line because I have no experience with them. So, I'd just like any comments on these brands.
