Let me guess SCR, you want to continue your job as east coast dealers rep for Simonton Impressions even on New Years day. You want to put this guy in front of one of your Impressions dealers, am I right?. That's the only reason you want to know where he is from.

Why don't you answer his question like he asked instead of just being a hack.

This forum is not just a web advertisement site for you to do nothing but promote Simonton Impressions for your personal gain. You have never once answered a question or given a piece of advice to homeowners on this board. All you do is to try to connect them with your stable of dealers. I realize your whole purpose of coming here is to secure larger commission checks from Simonton, and everybody needs to make a living, but give it a break please.

This is a consumer help forum, where homeowners go to get some real advice about windows from people who will give them some good fairly unbiased advice.

Fair enough.
I'll look forward to reading your advice. You do represent a very good window, after all.

Well anyway I once sold Amer Jewel about 10 years ago I used it as my drop window. They had a decent window then called the Series IV but they discontinued it and changed profiles to compete with the likes of Silverline for price. Their new window’s profiles were just too thin and weak for me to sell. If you use it just make sure your not paying a premium price for a low end.

They do have a nice casement window.

Happy New Year to the regulars.

Bill

Jeff, we recently had the American Jewel installed in our home--very likely by the same company you are looking at. Your decisionmaking may come down to what you are looking for. For us, we had a certain budget, good business reputation (highly recommended company via a consumer watchdog group), good customer service and good installation (which, from what I've read, can improve an average window) and a concern about avoiding heavy sales tactics. So with the American Jewel, I would look at the entire package. For us, we got what we were looking for--including a good NFRC-rated window that met/meets our needs. But if you want a better window, yes, they are out there. For example, American Jewel using a block and tackle balance and swiggle seal, which are no longer considered the best out there. For us, other things were more important (i.e., budget and the company we were doing business with, which also sells other window brands). For others, they may find that the top of the line (or near top of the line) specs are the priority. The company we went with gave us a long list of installatins done in our area for reference purposes--getting similar info may help in your selection process. Hope this helps.
