We have recently received many quotes to replace our steel hinge single pane windows with vinyl windows. Our house is stucco over cement block. Most of the salesman said they would insulate around the window and then put a vinyl trim. One said he would fill in the gap with insulation, wire mesh, and then stucco right up to the window.
Any advice on which route is better would be helpful? From what I have been reading, installation is key.
Also, any input on the windows would be great. We live in El Paso, Texas. The windows being shown to us are Traco, WeatherShield, Modern, and Pella (directly thru them). We are looking for a good middle of the road window.
