I had new windows installed about a year ago, in one window I have a drop shade that is close to the window. It is behind the couch so sitting on either side of the window you get a rather nasty draft. Is this normal. We called the window company and they stated that we needed to pull the shade up and let the window heat up / I though that they energy efficient if that was the case then would I expending energy by heating the window. Also wouldn't that mean that I would be loosing heat through the window. I can hold a candel up to the shade on either side and it will blow the flame completely verticle. Also, the window will ice over if the shade is closed.
