 Schuco

Greetings all,

I live in Twin Cities area of Minnesota and had a visit by a rep from a local dealer last night. I am satified with the price quote for five windows, but still have some unanswered questions. The price quote was for Corona 1000 triple pane with krypton gas. When I asked the rep about other model lines (i.e. numbers like 2000, 3000, etc.) he said that 1000 refered to the double-hung version. I still was a little confused so I called the dealer directly today. The woman informed me that the 1000 was the only double hung window they sold and that it is the best quality. When I asked about a Corona 4000 model, I was told it doesn't exist. Well, according to the Schuco USA Web site it does. I am a little uneasy about the transaction now and have until Friday to cancel. Am I being fed a line here? Thanks in advance for any info.

The double hung model you were quoted is probably the Corona 4000... the dealer order number for that unit is 1000 C4. They might be new dealers.

The 2-pane DH's I orderd are Corona 4000's, contracts states "C4".

As a dealer, I agree. The series of the window is 4000, but the model number in the price book is 1000. If they quoted you the 1000 model, then you are getting the best wiondow Schuco makes.

Hi,
Out of interest, I had a quote last night for what sounds like the same window - Schuco 1000 model double hung triple pane with krypton.
I was quoted 26,000 for 21 windows - all double hung, none of them oversized.

The salesman was definitely pushy and trying to negotiate the price down if we signed on the spot, which we refused to do.
Anyway, I was just wondering if this was a reasonable price for a top of the line product?
Thanks

Drop me an email with your location. Sounds like you need a new dealer. I know some great Schuco dealers that provide exceptional service and great prices to educated consumers from these sites... without the games and pressure.

Thanks for the information everyone. I feel much better, now. I figured it was probably a bit of misinformation on my part — but I wanted to make sure.

BTW, the price you were quoted seems way high to me. I was able to negotiate below the price you were quoted. Then again, I was prepared to pay straight cash on the spot. That helped the process, I believe. Again, each situation is different, and prices vary by region.

And there is only one Shuco dealer in the Twin Cities, so you can guess who it is. So far the experience has been pleasent. We'll see about the install. Stay tuned.

My Schuco dealer originally gave a high sticker-shock price for 20 windows. Then they came down 2 or 3K a few weeks later. Them thay came down another 3K after I had price to quote them from a different but high end product.

If you are not in a hurry just wait them out and keep asking for $14K price each week the call.

$600 to $700 per installed window is about the bottom price... They all seam to start at $1000 per window.

keep in kind, and I am a Shuco sales rep, that you do want to get he best bang for your buck, and you have the right to make the final decision. If your rep was too pushy, then he's not a good rep. We're out to demonstrate our windows, educate you on the competions altenatives and why we're the #1 rated, largest manufacteror of replacement windows, and then make it comfortable for you to have your windows installed.
The first call savings can be substantial.
