Re: Alside Proline 2200 vs Sunrise Essentials

The Vanguard quote sounds about normal and the Essentials sounds low. Same contractor?

If you have every handled or unloaded an Essentials off of a truck vs. a Vanguard, you will feel $200 per unit difference.

Re: Alside Proline 2200 vs Sunrise Essentials

What he said.

Seriously though...if you look at the Essentials next to a Vanguard, you won't understand how both windows are made by the same company and how they could put their name on an Essentials when they produce something like the Vanguard. They are WORLDS apart.

Re: Alside Proline 2200 vs Sunrise Essentials

Even in the cases of short term usage projections, I find that folks are both happier and get a better ROI on their window selection if they go with a good mid-range product vs. an entry level. By all accounts, both products in question would fit the "entry range" descriptor and in this case, occupy...

Re: Okna 500 vs 600 (or 800)

If we are doing anything with the client requesting noise attenuation, we use the 800 for the following reasons: 800 has the lowest air infiltration rating and a window that leaks less air will also leak less noise 800 is also the most robust frame and laminated glass is heavy so it is better to run...

Re: Sunrise in DFW

I wasn't aware they had an 0.02 on their air number. That must be new, but everything else looks pretty solid. Sunrise is one of the often recommended brands.

Re: Phillips window warranty?

Tory,

Most times you are, as they say...SOL. Most times they will buy the business, but not the liabilities.

No harm in calling them, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

What is the project size like? HomeSealed will probably go a bit outside his normal range for web board folks.

Re: Simonton Contractor Series

I'm not sure about the cross overs on the line ups, but Simonton definitely does brand their stuff for HD.

If the prices are comparable, I would always recommend a lumber yard over HD. Just seems to be less prone to issues if you follow that path.

Re: OKNA 500 vs 800 replacement windows

In my opinion, yes. The 800 looks nicer with the handle and there is a good bit more material it in. It is super strong and I always want to defer to the stronger product in that comparison.
