Re: trim coil
Usually...G8. But they are getting so darn expensive lately and I loathe having to deal with Alside. QE...supposedly...makes the G8 for Alside, so we are going to be switching to QE.

Mil thickness on the vinyl, dual dam leg on the sill, lower air infiltration numbers, better performance grade (i.e. DP Rating), and generally a more robust profile.

+1. Low pressure, window and door specific, foam.
You can spritz the opening with a bit of water before hand and that will help it cure.

Are there any more numbers on the right side of the pink sticker?
Either way, the window is equip with Low-e 366 and depending on where you are located, that is a good formulation.

For that and a patio door, definitely on the lower end of the price scale to be certain. If you like the contractor and he/she is vetted, its a good price.

Honestly, if its done right, you shouldn't have ANY issues. We have almost 20 years of installs right now and I can count on one hand (2 fingers actually) the number is issues that were defects of workmanship or product.

I am not a fan of the Pella 350 so in that comparison, a well installed Harvey would be my pick.

Re: Vinyl window lead time in Philadelphia suburbs
We should acknowledge that lead does pose a larger risk to a developing brain than an adult brain.... Therefore...I am still at risk because I am told that my brain is still not developed...well...that is what the wife says. All things being equal, what the poster said above is true. Much of the dis...

Re: Vinyl window lead time in Philadelphia suburbs
Again, you will have to do what is right for your level of concern, but fridge2020 is correct. The vast majority of BLL elevations in children are from poorly maintained homes. That all said, you need to do what is r...

I never want to go to a surgeon that is a scratch golfer or a contractor that isn't busy...or a window manufacturer that can turn it around is record time either.

Re: Which Window Is Better?
I wonder if your contractor contacted them if they couldn't work something out. That said, Soft-Lite is sold via distributorship at this point and its likely that wherever he gets his siding, he can probably get one of the upper end Soft-Lite windows. Not a fan of pocket sill windows (i.e. P-350) if...
